In the fourth quarter of 2022, the top five news apps on iOS in Costa Rica showcased varied performance trends in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. Here are the insights based on Sensor Tower data.

The New York Times saw fluctuations in weekly revenue, peaking at around $237 in the week of November 7. Weekly downloads had a notable increase to 91 in mid-October, while active users ranged from 264 to 343, ending the quarter at 296.

The Economist - News, Podcasts experienced a revenue peak of approximately $159 in early November. Downloads reached a high of 26 in mid-December, and active users remained stable, fluctuating slightly between 86 and 96 throughout the quarter.

Medium: Read & Write Stories showed a significant revenue increase, peaking at about $134 in mid-November. Downloads were highest in early October at 94, and active users saw a slight decline from 468 to 422 by the end of December.

The Wall Street Journal. had a revenue peak of approximately $102 in mid-December. The highest number of downloads was 27 in early October, while active users remained fairly consistent, ranging from 70 to 86.

Bloomberg: Business News Daily experienced a revenue peak of about $103 in early October. Downloads reached 51 in the same period, and active users increased from 33 to 54 over the quarter.
