Top 5 Finance Apps on Android in Australia, Q4 2022

In the fourth quarter of 2022, the top five finance applications on the Android platform in Australia demonstrated diverse trends in weekly downloads and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

Google Wallet saw a notable peak in weekly downloads, reaching approximately 42.5K in the week of November 7. This was followed by a gradual decline, ending the quarter with around 22.2K downloads in the final week of December. The app's weekly active users fluctuated slightly, peaking at about 173.9K in early November and closing the quarter with roughly 158.1K active users.

CommBank maintained a steady download rate throughout the quarter, with a peak of about 12.8K downloads in the week of October 24. The app's weekly active users saw a slight decline from around 1.67M at the beginning of October to approximately 1.61M by the end of December.

PayPal - Send, Shop, Manage experienced consistent weekly downloads, peaking at about 12K in the week of November 21. Active users for the app showed a slight fluctuation, starting the quarter with around 422K and ending with roughly 407K active users.

The Ubank Money App had a significant spike in downloads, reaching a high of approximately 21.1K in the week of November 14. Weekly active users trended upwards, beginning the quarter with around 31.4K and peaking at about 59.1K in mid-November before closing the quarter with roughly 53.1K active users.

ANZ Plus showed a steady increase in weekly downloads, peaking at about 8.5K in the week of November 21. The app's weekly active users also saw an upward trend, starting at around 12.5K and ending the quarter with approximately 29.5K active users.
