In the third quarter of 2022, the top five travel apps in Belgium displayed diverse trends in terms of downloads and active users. According to Sensor Tower data, here's a closer look at their performance:
SNCB/NMBS: Timetable & tickets saw a consistent increase in weekly downloads, peaking at nearly 30K in late August. Active users also grew steadily, reaching approximately 250K by the end of September.
Booking.com: Hotels & Travel experienced a decline in weekly downloads, starting from around 20K in early July and dropping to about 6.3K by the end of September. Active users followed a similar downward trend, falling from nearly 410K in late July to approximately 288K by the end of the quarter.
De Lijn showed an upward trend in downloads, especially in late August, where they peaked at over 17K. Active users also saw a significant increase, reaching around 73K in late August before stabilizing at approximately 64K towards the end of September.
Uber - Request a ride had relatively stable download numbers, with a slight peak in early September at 7.3K. Active users remained fairly consistent, hovering around 150K throughout the quarter, with a slight increase towards the end of September to about 155K.
