In the third quarter of 2022, the top five news apps on the iOS platform in Portugal showcased various performance trends in terms of weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides insights into the market dynamics for these applications.

X from X Corp. saw a fluctuating trend in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $113 in early August and stabilizing around $80 to $105 towards the end of the quarter. Weekly downloads showed a significant spike to 8.1K in the first week of August, followed by a steady range between 2.3K and 3.1K. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 280K, with a slight increase to 289K in early September.

Reddit experienced a varied revenue trend, reaching a high of $245 in mid-September. Weekly downloads ranged from 1.2K to 1.6K, with notable increases in the weeks of August 8 and September 26. Active users also saw consistent growth, peaking at around 52K by the end of September.

Fogos.pt displayed a significant decline in weekly downloads over the quarter. The app started at 7.8K downloads in mid-July but dropped to just 93 by late September.

Público from Público Comunicação Social, SA showed a consistent revenue trend, peaking at $1.8K in the first week of September. Weekly downloads remained stable, ranging between 411 and 656, with a peak in mid-September.

CNN Portugal from Media Capital Digital, S.A. had a steady performance in terms of downloads, ranging from 405 to 627 per week. However, the app did not generate any revenue during this period.
