In the second quarter of 2022, the travel app market in the United States showcased varied performances across the top 5 applications. Here’s a closer look at the weekly trends in downloads, active users, and revenue for these leading travel apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Request a ride saw a consistent performance in weekly downloads, starting from approximately 397K at the end of March and stabilizing around 337K by the end of June. The app maintained a robust user base, with weekly active users peaking at around 11.7M in early May before seeing a slight decline to approximately 10.4M by the end of the quarter.

Vrbo Vacation Rentals experienced fluctuations in weekly downloads, ranging from about 342K in late March to a dip of approximately 221K in late May, before recovering to around 267K by the end of June. Active user numbers showed a steady increase, peaking at nearly 3.4M in late June.

Upside: Cash Back - Gas & Food demonstrated a significant upward trend in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 211K in late March and reaching a high of about 503K in early June. Active users followed a similar trend, increasing from around 1.9M in late March to over 3.1M by the end of June.
