In the second quarter of 2022, the top 5 shopping applications in Africa showcased diverse trends in weekly downloads and active users. This data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides a comprehensive overview of their performance across both iOS and Android platforms.

Jumia Online Shopping experienced a significant increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 309K at the end of March and peaking at approximately 458K in the first week of June. Active users also saw growth, rising from 3.4M to almost 4M by mid-June.

Alibaba.com showed a strong upward trend in downloads, beginning at 173K in late March and reaching about 346K by the end of June. Active users followed a similar pattern, increasing from roughly 2.3M to nearly 2.9M over the same period.

Amazon Shopping maintained a steady download rate with minor fluctuations, starting at 213K in late March and ending at about 177K in late June. Active users demonstrated consistent growth, moving from 2.1M to over 2.3M by the end of the quarter.

SHEIN - Shopping Online saw a gradual decline in weekly downloads from 130K at the end of March to around 95K by the end of June. Despite this, active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around the 1M mark throughout the quarter.

Jiji Nigeria had a varied performance in downloads, with numbers starting at 128K in late March and dipping to approximately 90K by the end of June. Active users saw a peak of 1.4M in mid-April before stabilizing around 1.2M by the end of the quarter.
