Top 5 Navigation Apps in South America: Q2 2022 Performance

The second quarter of 2022 saw significant activity among the top navigation apps in South America. Here’s a detailed look at their performance metrics, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Google Maps maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads fluctuating between 136K and 226K, peaking in mid-April. The app saw a slight dip in weekly active users, starting at 11.4M and ending the quarter at 11.3M.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic showed a consistent download trend, ranging from 235K to 315K weekly. Active user numbers were stable, beginning at 8.8M and closing the quarter at 8.6M.

Moovit: All Transit Options experienced an upward trajectory in weekly revenue, starting from negligible amounts and reaching around $428 by the end of June. Downloads remained steady, hovering between 190K and 254K per week. The app also saw a stable active user base, closing June with approximately 4.1M users.

Cittamobi: Transporte Coletivo had a weekly download range of 23K to 37K. Active users showed a slight increase from 569K at the beginning of April to 563K by the end of June.

Finally, Bike Itaú saw weekly downloads range from approximately 13K to 23K. Active users exhibited a slight decline, starting at 67K in late March and ending at around 62K in late June.
