In Q2 2022, the top five education apps on iOS in Africa showcased varied performance trends. Here’s a closer look at their weekly downloads, revenue, and active user metrics, based on data from Sensor Tower.

K.J.V. Holy Bible saw a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 8K in late March and peaking at approximately 8.6K by the end of June. Active users followed a similar trend, growing from about 55.6K to 59.2K over the quarter.

LetMeSpeak – Learn English experienced fluctuating download numbers. The app started with around 5.6K downloads in late March, peaked at 9.5K in late May, and then declined to approximately 3.6K by the end of June. Active users mirrored these fluctuations, starting at 5.4K and peaking at 9.3K before dropping to 5.7K.

Duolingo - Language Lessons maintained a consistent performance in terms of downloads, with numbers ranging from 5.6K to 7.3K throughout the quarter. Revenue for Duolingo showed an upward trend, peaking at about $12.8K in late May. Active users increased from around 46.9K to 54.1K by the end of June.

Photomath had varied weekly downloads, starting at around 3K and reaching a high of 4.5K in late May. Revenue saw a significant increase in the same period, peaking at approximately $1.5K. Active users, however, showed a declining trend from 38.7K to 24.8K over the quarter.

Kahoot! Play & Create Quizzes displayed a significant spike in weekly downloads in late May, reaching about 15K. Weekly revenue peaked at around $620 by the end of June. Active users also saw a notable increase, peaking at approximately 28.9K in late May before stabilizing around 7.4K by the end of June.
