In the second quarter of 2022, the finance app landscape in Costa Rica showcased notable trends across the top-performing applications on the Android platform. Here’s a breakdown of the performance of the top five finance apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.
EMMA from Unicomer had a significant increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 12K at the end of March and reaching a peak of approximately 29.5K by the end of May. The weekly active users also showed a positive trend, increasing from 67K to 94K by the end of June.
BN Móvil, published by Banco Nacional de Costa Rica, experienced fluctuations in weekly downloads. Starting with 27.7K at the end of March, downloads saw a dip mid-quarter but rose again, ending June with roughly 15K. The app maintained a strong user base with weekly active users fluctuating between 372K and 490K throughout the quarter.
The performance of BN SINPE Móvil, also by Banco Nacional de Costa Rica, was marked by a noteworthy spike in downloads in early May, reaching around 24.7K. Weekly active users saw a peak of approximately 55.5K in early May before stabilizing around the 39K mark by the end of June.
BCR Móvil, from Banco de Costa Rica, demonstrated steady weekly downloads, peaking at around 10.7K in early May. The app’s weekly active users increased from 67K at the end of March to approximately 73K by the end of June.
Lastly, BN Token Celular saw a major spike in downloads in early May, reaching around 32.4K. However, this number stabilized to approximately 3K by the end of June. The app’s weekly active users peaked at 43.7K in early May, before settling around 19K by the end of the quarter.
