In the first quarter of 2022, the top 5 travel applications in Europe showed varying performance trends in terms of weekly downloads, active users, and revenue. Here’s a closer look at how each app fared.

Uber - Request a ride saw a notable fluctuation in weekly downloads. Starting strong with approximately 625K downloads at the end of December, the numbers dipped to around 355K in mid-January but picked up again, reaching about 429K by the end of March. The app's weekly active users showed a similar pattern, starting at 11.1M and experiencing a dip to around 9.4M in early January, before climbing back up to approximately 10.5M by the end of the quarter.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel demonstrated a consistent download trend with a slight upward trajectory. Weekly downloads ranged from around 384K at the end of December to a peak of approximately 453K by the end of March. Active users also saw a significant increase from 11.4M to about 13.8M over the same period.

Bolt: Request a Ride experienced a steady rise in weekly downloads, starting at 365K in late December and reaching around 318K by the end of March. The app's active user base showed growth from approximately 2.4M to about 2.3M over the quarter, indicating a stable user engagement.

Google Earth maintained a relatively stable download rate, beginning with around 256K weekly downloads at the end of December and peaking at approximately 309K by the end of March. Active users also showed a slight increase from about 1.8M to around 1.9M during the quarter.

Flightradar24 | Flight Tracker experienced significant spikes in both downloads and active users. Weekly downloads surged from about 99K at the end of December to a peak of approximately 1.3M in late February, before stabilizing at around 166K by the end of March. Active users mirrored this trend, jumping from around 689K to a peak of approximately 2.1M in late February and then settling at about 1.1M by the end of the quarter. Revenue followed a similar pattern, starting at around $94K and peaking at approximately $180K in early March.
