In the first quarter of 2022, the top five shopping applications in El Salvador demonstrated diverse trends in their performance metrics, based on data from Sensor Tower. Here’s a closer look at how these apps fared in terms of weekly downloads and active users.

SHEIN - Shopping Online saw a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting at 3.4K in late December and peaking at 5.4K in mid-March. The app also experienced a consistent rise in weekly active users, beginning at approximately 84.9K and reaching around 95.5K by the end of March.

Alibaba.com experienced a significant surge in weekly downloads, particularly noticeable from late February, where downloads jumped from 3.5K to 7.2K by the end of March. The number of weekly active users also increased from around 67.5K to approximately 77.7K during the same period.

Amazon Shopping maintained a relatively stable performance in weekly downloads, fluctuating between 2.2K and 2.7K throughout the quarter. Weekly active users remained robust, starting at around 98.6K in late December and slightly increasing to 102.1K by the end of March.

AliExpress - Shopping App showed a modest but consistent performance in weekly downloads, averaging around 1.7K to 2K throughout the quarter. Weekly active users hovered around the 46K to 50K mark, indicating a stable user base.

Siman demonstrated a notable increase in weekly downloads, particularly in early February, where downloads surged to 4.3K. However, weekly downloads fluctuated thereafter, ending the quarter at approximately 1.9K.
