Top 5 Shopping Apps in Europe Q1 2022: Unified Platform Performance

Throughout the first quarter of 2022, the top five shopping applications in Europe—SHEIN - Shopping Online, getir: groceries, food&beyond, AliExpress - Shopping App, Vinted: Sell vintage clothes, and Amazon—showed varied trends in weekly downloads and active users. According to Sensor Tower data, here’s a closer look at how each app performed.

SHEIN - Shopping Online saw a strong start with weekly downloads peaking at 851K in late January. The app maintained high download rates, finishing the quarter with around 760K downloads per week. Active users also remained robust, starting at 16.6M and rising to approximately 19.1M by the end of March.

getir: groceries, food&beyond experienced a decline in weekly downloads, starting from nearly 1M in late December to around 493K by the end of March. Despite this, the app's active users increased from 8.1M to 8.7M, indicating sustained engagement.

AliExpress - Shopping App faced a downward trend in downloads, beginning with 615K and dropping to about 367K by the end of Q1. Active users saw a more significant decline, from 25.2M to approximately 20.5M, reflecting a decrease in user retention over the period.

Vinted: Sell vintage clothes maintained a relatively stable download rate, fluctuating around the 500K mark, with a slight dip in February. The app’s active users hovered around 10M, showing consistent user engagement throughout the quarter.

Amazon showed a steady performance in weekly downloads, ranging between 388K and 548K. Active users started at 29.7M in late December and saw a slight fluctuation, ending the quarter at approximately 27.7M.
