In the first quarter of 2022, Ecuador saw interesting trends in the shopping app market. The top five shopping apps, based on downloads and active users, were SHEIN - Shopping Online, Alibaba.com, Mercado Libre: Compras Online, Amazon Shopping, and Shappi. Below is a detailed analysis of their performance metrics.

SHEIN - Shopping Online experienced a steady rise in weekly downloads, starting from approximately 9.6K in late December and peaking at around 14.6K by the end of March. The app also maintained a consistent increase in weekly active users, growing from 178K at the beginning of the quarter to about 209K by the end.

Alibaba.com saw a significant surge in weekly downloads, particularly in March, where numbers jumped from about 13.2K in early March to around 18.6K by the end of the month. Weekly active users also showed a positive trend, increasing from approximately 206K at the start of the quarter to around 248K by the end of March.

Mercado Libre: Compras Online maintained a steady performance in weekly downloads, fluctuating between 5.9K and 7.5K throughout the quarter. The app's weekly active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 393K to 415K over the three months.

Amazon Shopping had consistent weekly downloads, ranging from 6.2K to 7.6K. The active users metric for Amazon Shopping showed some fluctuations, starting at about 299K in late December, peaking at approximately 314K in early March, and ending at around 278K by the end of the quarter.

Shappi demonstrated varied performance in downloads, with peaks and troughs throughout the quarter. Downloads ranged from about 4.4K to 9.2K. Weekly active users for Shappi showed a slight decline over the quarter, peaking at around 17.6K in late January and ending at approximately 15.1K by the end of March.
