The first quarter of 2022 showed varied performance for the top 5 news applications in Cyprus, according to data from Sensor Tower. Below, we break down the trends for each app.

X from X Corp. experienced fluctuations in both weekly revenue and downloads. Weekly revenue peaked at $55 in the second week of January and saw smaller peaks of $24 and $21 in the weeks of February 21 and March 7, respectively. Weekly downloads showed a general upward trend mid-quarter, reaching 1.7K in the week of February 21, while other weeks maintained a steady rate around 1.1K to 1.4K.

Reddit maintained a relatively stable download rate, with a notable spike to 1.1K in the last week of March. Revenue showed a high of $100 in the last week of December, with smaller peaks throughout the quarter such as $49 in mid-February and $32 in early March.

SIGMALIVE displayed a varied download trend with a significant peak of 301 downloads in the last week of December. Another notable increase was in the week of February 21, reaching 240 downloads. The rest of the quarter saw fluctuating but generally lower numbers.

BBC: World News & Stories saw a notable spike in downloads to 252 in the week of February 21. Other weeks in the quarter ranged from 31 to 54 downloads, with a slight increase to 50 in the last week of March.
