Top 5 Navigation Apps Performance in Ukraine Q1 2022

In the first quarter of 2022, the top five navigation apps in Ukraine exhibited distinct performance trends across weekly downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at their performance:

Google Maps saw a consistent increase in weekly downloads, starting from around 23K in late December 2021 and peaking at nearly 46K in early March 2022. Active users also experienced a notable rise, reaching about 2.2M in the week of February 21 before stabilizing around 1.7M by the end of March.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic had a fluctuating download trend, with a high of approximately 34K downloads in the first week of January, tapering off to about 13K by the end of March. Active users mirrored this trend, peaking at around 448K in late December and decreasing to roughly 326K by the end of the quarter.

Eway public transport experienced a gradual decline in weekly downloads, starting at about 18K in late December and dropping to around 8K by the end of March. Active users showed a similar downward trend, from roughly 202K in late December to approximately 78K by the end of March. Revenue remained modest, peaking at around $115 in late December and fluctuating between $25 and $115 throughout the quarter.

2GIS: Offline Map & Navigation had a varied download trend, with a high of about 18K in late February, dropping to around 6K by the end of March. Active users followed a similar pattern, starting at around 400K in late December and settling at approximately 195K by the end of March.

Moovit: All Transit Options showed a significant increase in weekly downloads, starting from around 3K in late December and climbing to about 10K by the end of March. Active users increased from roughly 59K in late December to approximately 80K by mid-March, stabilizing at around 77K by the end of the quarter.
