Top 5 Utilities Apps on iOS in New Zealand, Q1 2022

In the first quarter of 2022, the top 5 utilities apps in New Zealand on the iOS platform exhibited notable trends in weekly downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at their performance based on data from Sensor Tower.

Google Chrome experienced a slight fluctuation in weekly downloads, ranging from approximately 3.4K to 4.5K. The app peaked at 4.5K downloads in the week of January 31. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 158K to 161K throughout the quarter.

Google saw a gradual decline in weekly downloads, starting at about 3.4K at the end of December and dropping to around 2.6K by the end of March. Active users also showed a slight decrease, from about 24.3K to 23.5K over the same period.

NZ Pass Verifier had a significant drop in downloads over the quarter. The app started strong with 7.5K downloads in the week of January 24 but saw a decline to just 559 downloads by the end of March.

My One NZ maintained a fairly consistent download rate, with numbers fluctuating between 2.0K and 2.9K. Active users showed a stable trend, staying around 17K to 19K throughout the quarter.

Spark NZ had a steady download rate, generally ranging from 1.7K to 2.2K. Active users were also stable, with numbers around 11K to 12K over the quarter.
