During the first quarter of 2022, the top 5 travel applications on the iOS platform in Egypt showcased varying performance trends in terms of weekly downloads and active users. Here's a closer look at their metrics, based on data from Sensor Tower.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides experienced a notable increase in weekly downloads in January, peaking at approximately 69K during the week of January 17. However, downloads saw a decline towards the end of the quarter, with numbers dropping to around 18.6K by the last week of March. Active users for DiDi Rider showed a steady climb, starting at 6.7K at the end of December and reaching about 11.3K by the end of March.

inDrive. Save on city rides had a more stable download pattern, with numbers generally hovering around 10-15K throughout the quarter. The app's active users remained relatively consistent, starting at 14.8K in late December and ending at approximately 16.5K by the end of March.

Uber - Request a ride saw fluctuating download numbers, peaking at 8.1K in the first week of January and maintaining an average around 7K for the rest of the quarter. Active user numbers for Uber were significantly higher compared to other apps, starting at 117.8K and growing to 139.1K by the end of March, indicating a strong user base.

Swvl - Daily Bus Rides had modest download numbers, starting at 2.7K in late December and gradually increasing to around 4.7K by the end of March. Active users for Swvl showed a positive trend, beginning at 8.5K and rising to 13K by the end of the quarter.

Lastly, Careem – rides, food & more displayed a steady increase in downloads, starting at 2.8K in late December and peaking at 3.1K in the last week of February. The active user base showed fluctuations but ended on a high note, growing from 56.5K at the start of the quarter to 57K by the end of March.
