Top 5 iOS Navigation Apps in Europe Q1 2022

In the first quarter of 2022, the top 5 iOS navigation apps in Europe showcased diverse performance trends. Below, we provide an overview of their weekly downloads and active user metrics based on data from Sensor Tower.

Google Maps maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads starting at around 524K at the end of December 2021 and peaking at approximately 839K in the week of March 21. The app also saw a consistent rise in weekly active users, beginning the quarter with about 64.9M and reaching around 69.1M by the end of March.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic had a stable performance in terms of weekly downloads, beginning at 150K in late December and fluctuating around 124K by the end of March. The weekly active users showed a slight decline from roughly 11.9M at the end of December to around 11M in the last week of March.

Moovit: All Transit Options saw an upward trend in weekly downloads, starting at 44K in late December and reaching approximately 86K by the end of March. The app also experienced growth in weekly active users, beginning the quarter with 758K and ending with slightly over 1M.

Yandex Maps & Navigator experienced a varied trend in downloads, starting at about 85K and ending at around 52K. Despite this, the app maintained a relatively steady number of weekly active users, starting at 2.1M and ending at approximately 2M.

2GIS: Offline Map & Navigation had a fluctuating download trend, beginning with 59K in late December and ending at around 41K by the end of March. The weekly active users metric showed a slight decline from approximately 1.67M at the start of the quarter to around 1.5M at the end.
