During the first quarter of 2022, the top shopping apps on the Android platform in Mexico demonstrated varied performance in terms of downloads and active users. Here's a closer look at how each app fared, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Shopee MX: 9.9 Día de Compras saw a notable decline in downloads, starting from approximately 707K in the last week of December and dropping to about 243K by the end of March. Active users fluctuated throughout the quarter, peaking at around 2.9M at the end of January before settling at 2.4M by the end of March.

baz: súper app de entretenimiento y finanzas experienced significant growth in downloads, climbing from roughly 309K in late December to 579K by mid-March, before decreasing to 328K by the end of the quarter. Active users also saw a substantial increase, reaching nearly 942K in mid-March, up from 571K at the start of the quarter.

Mercado Libre: Compras online maintained a relatively stable download rate, with numbers hovering between 226K and 350K throughout the quarter. Active users exhibited a slight decline, starting at 7.1M in late December and ending at approximately 6.9M by the end of March.

SHEIN-Shopping Online showed an upward trend in downloads, beginning at 150K in late December and peaking at 338K in mid-March. Active users remained fairly consistent, rising from 2.7M at the beginning of the quarter to over 3M by the end of March.

Walmart - Walmart Express - MX had a steady download rate, with weekly numbers ranging from 86K to 135K. Active users saw minor fluctuations, starting at 411K in late December and reaching 463K by mid-March.
