In the first quarter of 2022, the top 5 shopping apps on the Android platform in Ghana showed varying trends in downloads and active users. Below, we take a closer look at the performance of these apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

JUMIA Online Shopping had a strong start to the year with weekly downloads peaking at around 58K in the first week of January. However, the downloads gradually declined, reaching approximately 26.8K by the end of March. The app maintained a robust number of weekly active users, starting at 574K and peaking at 635K in mid-January before tapering off to about 518K by the end of the quarter.

Alibaba.com - B2B marketplace saw a rise in weekly downloads from 9.1K at the end of December to a peak of 25.6K in early March. The weekly active users also showed an upward trend, beginning at 270K and peaking at 344K in early March before settling at around 275K by the end of the quarter.

KiKUU: Online Shopping Mall experienced a fluctuating download trend, starting at 17.6K at the end of December and gradually declining to 6K by the end of March. The weekly active users followed a similar pattern, starting at 165K and ending the quarter at approximately 137K.

Franko Trading started Q1 2022 with 2.5K downloads, reaching a high of 7.1K by the end of January, and then gradually decreasing to about 3.8K by the end of March. The app's weekly active users increased steadily from 22.7K in late December to a peak of 30.4K in early February, before stabilizing at around 28K by the end of the quarter.

TospinoMall showed a significant increase in weekly downloads, from just 60 at the end of December to nearly 3K by the end of March. This app's performance in terms of active users was not available.
