Top 5 Shopping Apps on Android in Brazil, Q1 2022

The first quarter of 2022 saw significant activity in the shopping app category on the Android platform in Brazil. Here’s a look at how the top 5 shopping apps performed based on weekly downloads and active users.

Shopee: 9.9 Super Shopping Day experienced fluctuating weekly downloads, starting strong with over 1M downloads in late December. The app saw a peak in mid-January with approximately 1.2M downloads but witnessed a decline to around 760K in early February. Weekly active users also showed a steady performance, peaking at 17.7M in mid-March before slightly decreasing to 16.6M by the end of the quarter.

SHEIN-Shopping Online demonstrated a consistent increase in weekly downloads throughout the quarter. Starting from 372K in late December, downloads soared to around 753K by the end of March. Weekly active users followed a similar trend, growing from approximately 5.1M to 7.3M over the same period.

Mercado Libre: Compras online saw stable weekly downloads with a slight increase from 273K in late December to around 424K in mid-March. The number of weekly active users remained relatively high, peaking at 19M in mid-January and ending the quarter with about 17.9M active users.

Americanas: compras online had variable weekly downloads, starting with 252K in late December and reaching a peak of 504K in mid-January. The app’s active user base showed a mild fluctuation, peaking at 11.1M in early January and dropping to around 9.6M by the end of March.

Magalu: loja e compras online also saw variations in weekly downloads, with a notable peak of 533K in early January before falling to approximately 213K by the end of March. The weekly active users showed a slight decline from 4.7M in late December to around 4.6M at the end of the quarter.
