In the first quarter of 2022, the top five MOBA apps on the Android platform in Europe saw diverse performance trends. Here’s a closer look at the weekly downloads, revenue, and active user metrics for Brawl Stars, Pokémon UNITE, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Arena of Valor, and League of Legends: Wild Rift.
Brawl Stars from Supercell saw its weekly revenue peak at approximately $2M at the end of December before dropping and stabilizing around $700K to $1M throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads showed a declining trend, starting from around 530K and ending at 215K. Active users fluctuated, peaking at 27.3M in late January and then decreasing to about 23.2M by the end of March.
Pokémon UNITE from The Pokémon Company had a modest revenue, peaking at about $32K at the end of December and generally hovering between $12K to $24K. Downloads experienced a spike in mid-January with 282K downloads but trended downwards, reaching roughly 51K by the end of March. Active users followed a similar pattern, peaking at around 675K in late January and then declining to approximately 386K.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang from Moonton maintained a consistent revenue, averaging around $300K to $450K weekly. Downloads showed a slight downward trend, starting at about 125K and ending at approximately 81K. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 1.8M to 2M throughout the quarter.
Arena of Valor from Level Infinite had lower revenue figures, peaking at around $19K in late February but mostly staying between $9K to $16K. Downloads saw a significant drop from 568K at the end of December to just 13K by the end of March. Active users declined steadily from approximately 803K to 156K over the same period.
League of Legends: Wild Rift from Riot Games, Inc. experienced a steady revenue decrease, starting at about $226K in mid-January and ending at $162K by the end of March. Downloads followed a downward trend, starting at roughly 73K and finishing at about 39K. Active users fluctuated slightly but generally trended downwards, from around 645K to 585K.
