In the first quarter of 2022, the top finance applications on the Android platform in the United States exhibited diverse performance trends. According to Sensor Tower, here is a closer look at the weekly downloads and active user metrics for the top 5 finance apps:

Cash App from Block, Inc., experienced significant fluctuations in weekly downloads. Starting at around 255K downloads in late December 2021, the app saw a peak of approximately 385K downloads in the week of January 24. Weekly active users for Cash App varied, starting the quarter at 7.1M and ending at approximately 7.5M in late March.

Google Pay: Save and Pay by Google LLC showed a steadier trend in weekly downloads. The app started with about 246K downloads in late December 2021, decreasing to around 130K by mid-February, and then slightly recovering to 162K downloads by the end of March. Its weekly active users showed a slight increase from 639K to 655K over the quarter.

PayPal - Send, Shop, Manage, published by PayPal Mobile, saw a relatively stable download pattern. Weekly downloads fluctuated between 131K and 173K, with a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, peaking at 161K in late March. Active users saw some variation, starting at 8.4M and ending at approximately 8.4M, with a notable peak of 9.3M in late January.

TurboTax: File Your Tax Return from Intuit Inc. showed a significant increase in weekly downloads, particularly in January, peaking at around 244K in the week of January 24. The downloads then gradually decreased to about 59K by the end of March. Weekly active users followed a similar trend, increasing from 265K at the start of the quarter to a peak of 715K at the end of January and then decreasing to around 479K by the end of March.

Venmo, published by Venmo, saw consistent weekly download numbers throughout the quarter. Starting at 129K in late December 2021, the app experienced minor fluctuations, peaking at approximately 130K in mid-March. Active users for Venmo increased from about 5.9M to 6.5M over the quarter.
