During the first quarter of 2022, the top five education applications on the Android platform in the United States exhibited diverse performance metrics in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. Here is a closer look at the trends for each app, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Duolingo: Language Lessons experienced a notable decline in weekly revenue from approximately $950K at the start of the quarter to around $461K by the end of March. Weekly downloads saw a gradual decrease, starting at 99K in late December and ending at 71K in late March. However, the app's weekly active users showed a positive trend, growing from 1.1M to nearly 1.3M over the same period.

Babbel - Learn Languages had a relatively stable weekly revenue, peaking at around $95K in early January and maintaining figures between $67K and $87K throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads ranged from 16K to 26K, with a notable peak in late February. Active users fluctuated slightly but remained in the range of 39K to 49K.

The Noggin Preschool Learning App saw consistent weekly revenue, starting at $50K and maintaining figures between $37K and $56K during Q1. Weekly downloads were steady, ranging from 13K to 17K. Active users remained stable, fluctuating slightly between 163K and 180K.

ClassDojo reported weekly revenue that varied from $28K to $47K, with a peak in late February. Weekly downloads showed a steady decline from 24K in early January to 16K by the end of March. Despite this, weekly active users grew significantly, starting at 806K in late December and reaching nearly 1.9M by the end of March.

Lastly, PictureThis - Plant Identifier showcased a strong upward trend in weekly revenue, rising from approximately $23K at the beginning of the quarter to $78K by the end of March. Weekly downloads followed a similar positive trend, increasing from 18K to 32K. The app's weekly active users also saw significant growth, rising from 220K to nearly 330K.
