In the fourth quarter of 2021, the top five travel applications in the Middle East demonstrated varied performance metrics on a unified platform. Here’s a closer look at the trends in weekly downloads and active users for each app, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Uber - Request a ride saw steady weekly downloads, with figures fluctuating between approximately 54K and 71K. A notable increase was observed in the week of November 29, reaching around 71K downloads. The app's weekly active users consistently stayed above 1.3M, peaking at nearly 1.45M in mid-December.

Expo 2020 Dubai experienced a varied download rate, starting the quarter with around 40K downloads and seeing a decline to about 13K by the end of December. However, the app maintained a consistent increase in weekly active users, starting at 32K and reaching a peak of almost 91K in the week of December 20.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel had weekly downloads ranging from approximately 36K to 57K, with a significant peak in the week of November 22. The app's weekly active users showed a slight decline, starting at around 910K and dropping to 785K in early December, before recovering to 910K by the end of the quarter.

Careem – rides, food & more maintained a steady download rate, with weekly figures ranging between 36K and 52K. The app's weekly active users fluctuated between approximately 680K and 814K, with a noticeable dip in mid-December, followed by a recovery towards the end of the quarter.
