The fourth quarter of 2021 saw diverse trends for the top travel apps in Ireland across both iOS and Android platforms. Here’s a detailed look at their performance based on data from Sensor Tower.

Leap Top Up experienced a notable decline in weekly downloads, starting from approximately 10.5K at the beginning of October and dropping to around 2.9K by the end of December. Despite this drop, the app maintained a relatively stable number of weekly active users, fluctuating between 62K to 65K throughout the quarter.

FREENOW - Taxi and more showed a pattern of fluctuating downloads, peaking at 9.4K in late October before descending to around 4.2K by the end of December. Weekly active users also saw a gentle decline, starting at roughly 20.5K at the end of September and ending the quarter at about 17.5K.

VeriFLY: Fast Digital Identity had a mixed performance in terms of weekly downloads, beginning at approximately 10.6K downloads and ending the quarter at about 5.8K. Active users showed a downward trend from around 12.8K at the start of October to 8.2K by the end of December, with a slight increase during mid-December.

Bolt: Request a Ride displayed significant growth in weekly downloads, escalating from approximately 2.4K at the end of September to a peak of about 10.4K in mid-December, before dropping to around 4.4K by the end of the year. Weekly active users also rose markedly, beginning at around 8.5K and reaching a peak of 20.8K in mid-December, before closing the quarter at approximately 15K.

Ryanair saw a steady decline in weekly downloads, starting from approximately 5.2K at the end of September and falling to about 3.3K by the end of December. The number of weekly active users also decreased, from around 19.6K at the start of October to approximately 17.6K by the end of the quarter.
