The fourth quarter of 2021 saw varied performance across the top 5 travel apps in Guatemala, with notable fluctuations in weekly downloads and active users. Here’s a detailed look at how each app fared according to Sensor Tower data.

Request a ride experienced a general upward trend in weekly downloads, starting from approximately 7.4K at the end of September and peaking at around 13.2K in mid-December. Active users also followed an upward trajectory, growing from 763K at the start of the quarter to a peak of 959K in mid-December, before dropping to 787K by the end of December.

inDrive. Save on city rides saw its weekly downloads increase from roughly 7.1K at the end of September to around 13.2K by mid-December. Active users rose steadily from 110K at the beginning of the quarter to a high of 127K in mid-December, before ending the quarter at 116K.

Airbnb had weekly downloads ranging from about 3.2K to 4.9K, with active users showing growth from 24.4K to a peak of 29.7K in early December. The active users slightly dipped towards the end but remained above 29K for the last week of December.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel showed a gradual increase in weekly downloads from 558 at the end of September to 1.1K by the end of December. Active users fluctuated throughout the quarter, starting at 16.7K and peaking at 18.1K at the end of November before closing the quarter at 17.5K.
