Top 5 Shopping Apps in New Zealand in Q4 2021

The fourth quarter of 2021 saw interesting trends in the performance of the top five shopping apps in New Zealand. Here’s a detailed look at the weekly downloads and active users for each app, based on data from Sensor Tower.

The Warehouse - Shop and Save experienced fluctuations in weekly downloads, peaking at about 21K in the week of October 25. Active users also showed a notable increase, reaching approximately 74K in the same week, before gradually declining to around 59K by the end of December.

SHEIN - Shopping Online saw a decline in weekly downloads from 10.4K in early October to about 5.3K by mid-December. However, weekly active users remained relatively stable early in the quarter, with a slight drop from 108K in mid-October to around 85K by the end of December.

TheMarket – Online Shopping NZ had varying weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 9.5K in early November. However, by the end of December, downloads had decreased to around 3.7K.

Afterpay: Shop Smarter maintained a relatively steady download rate, with a notable increase to approximately 6.7K in mid-December. Active users saw an upward trend, peaking at around 94K in the week of December 20, before dropping to 83K by the end of the month.

Woolworths NZ saw a moderate download rate, with a peak of about 5.1K in early November. Active users remained fairly consistent throughout the quarter, ranging from 42K to 45K, with a slight decline to around 39K by the end of December.
