During the fourth quarter of 2021, the top five shopping apps in Ecuador demonstrated diverse trends in weekly downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at the performance of these apps according to data from Sensor Tower.

SHEIN - Shopping Online saw a peak in weekly downloads in early November, reaching approximately 16.3K. However, downloads declined towards the end of the quarter, falling to around 7K by mid-December. The app’s weekly active users fluctuated but ended the quarter on a high note, increasing from 151.6K in late September to 178K by the end of December.

AliExpress - Shopping App experienced a significant spike in downloads in early November, hitting around 35.6K. This was followed by a drop, with downloads decreasing to approximately 2.4K by the end of December. Active users for AliExpress mirrored this trend, peaking at around 278.9K in early November before settling at approximately 199.5K by the end of the year.

Alibaba.com had its highest weekly downloads at the end of September with nearly 29K, but this number dropped to approximately 5.7K by late December. Active users showed a more stable pattern, starting at 278.1K in late September and ending at 206.6K by the end of December.

Amazon Shopping maintained a relatively stable download rate throughout the quarter, with a slight peak of about 9.2K in early November. Active users saw a gradual increase, starting at 272.4K at the end of September and reaching approximately 298.5K by the end of December.

Mercado Libre: Compras Online had consistent weekly downloads, staying around the 6K mark throughout the quarter. The app’s active users showed a steady increase, peaking at around 429.1K in late November before ending the quarter at approximately 392.8K.
