The fourth quarter of 2021 saw interesting trends among the top 5 shopping apps in the Dominican Republic, according to data from Sensor Tower. Here’s a closer look at how these apps performed on a unified platform, which includes data from both iOS and Android users.

SHEIN - Shopping Online experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 13.4K in late September and peaking at nearly 25K in early November. By the end of December, downloads had settled to around 12.8K. Active users also saw a consistent rise, starting from about 200K and reaching a high of nearly 248K in late November, before ending the quarter at approximately 245K.

Alibaba.com showed a fluctuating pattern in weekly downloads. Beginning the quarter with about 17K downloads, the numbers dipped to around 4.2K in mid-October but saw a recovery, ending December with approximately 6.1K downloads. The active user base started at around 123K but faced a decline, closing the quarter at roughly 98.3K.

Amazon Shopping maintained a more stable download rate, initiating the quarter with about 4.8K downloads and peaking at roughly 6.6K in late November. The number of weekly active users showed a positive trend, starting at around 199K and climbing to a peak of approximately 250K in late November, before slightly tapering to around 219K by the end of December.

Colmapp had a varied download trend, with a significant jump from around 1.9K in late September to a peak of approximately 6.3K in mid-October. Downloads fluctuated greatly, ending December at about 2.8K.

Lyst: Shop Fashion Brands saw a notable increase in downloads during November, spiking from around 939 to approximately 6.1K in the final week of November. Active users followed a similar upward trend, beginning at around 1.9K and peaking at 5.6K in late November before ending the year at roughly 3.9K.
