In the fourth quarter of 2021, the top shopping applications in Africa demonstrated diverse performance trends across downloads and active users. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides an in-depth look at the weekly metrics for these prominent apps.

Jumia Online Shopping saw significant fluctuations in its weekly downloads, peaking at over 1M downloads in the week of November 1. However, it experienced a decline towards the end of the quarter, finishing with approximately 315K downloads in the last week of December. The app's active users peaked at around 5.8M in early November but gradually declined to approximately 3.4M by the end of the quarter.

Amazon Shopping had a relatively steady performance in weekly downloads, starting at around 386K in late September and showing a slight increase to approximately 310K by the end of December. Active users for the app also fluctuated, peaking at about 2.6M in late November before settling around 2M by the end of the year.

OLX Arabia - أوليكس experienced a decline in downloads over the quarter, starting at around 133K in late September and dropping to about 93K by the end of December. Active users followed a similar trend, decreasing from approximately 1.3M to around 1.1M during the same period.

Alibaba.com showed a notable drop in downloads from around 357K in late September to approximately 71K by the end of December. The app's active users decreased from around 3M in late September to approximately 2.3M by the end of the quarter.

SHEIN - Shopping Online had a consistent yet declining trend in downloads, starting at around 124K in late September and decreasing to about 53K by the end of December. Active users for SHEIN also saw a decrease, from approximately 821K in late September to around 746K by the end of the year.
