Top 5 Education Apps Performance in the US, Q4 2021

The fourth quarter of 2021 saw significant activity in the education app sector in the United States. Data from Sensor Tower reveals the performance trends of the top five education apps, showcasing weekly downloads, revenue, and active users.

Duolingo - Language Lessons experienced a notable increase in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $3.6M in the final week of December. Weekly downloads also saw a significant rise, reaching around 286K in the same week. Additionally, weekly active users grew steadily from around 3.6M at the beginning of October to nearly 4M by the end of December.

Toca Boca World showed impressive performance with weekly revenue peaking at around $2.6M in the last week of December. Weekly downloads spiked to approximately 342K in mid-December, while weekly active users increased from about 1M in early October to over 1.2M by the end of December.

ABCmouse: Reading & Math Games had a steady revenue stream, with weekly revenue reaching up to $685K in the week of December 20. Weekly downloads fluctuated but saw a peak of around 81K in the final week of December. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, closing the quarter at approximately 447K.

Photomath exhibited consistent performance with weekly revenue around $503K in the week of December 20. Weekly downloads experienced a significant drop, starting at 317K in late September and falling to about 50K by the end of December. Weekly active users also declined from approximately 12.2M at the start of the quarter to around 3M by the end of December.

Epic - Kids' Books & Reading maintained a steady weekly revenue, peaking at around $438K in mid-October. Weekly downloads saw a high of nearly 64K in early October, while weekly active users remained relatively stable, ending the quarter at approximately 288K.
