Top 5 iOS Navigation Apps in Europe Q4 2021

During the fourth quarter of 2021, the top navigation apps on the iOS platform in Europe showcased varying trends in downloads, active users, and revenue. Here’s a closer look at the performance of these apps, with insights from Sensor Tower.

Google Maps maintained a high level of weekly downloads, starting strong with approximately 673K in late September and experiencing a slight dip to around 492K by the end of November. The app saw a recovery towards the end of December, reaching 524K weekly downloads. Active users showed a generally stable trend, hovering around 69M, with a minor decline to about 64M in late December before a slight uptick to nearly 65M.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic exhibited a consistent download pattern, starting at around 165K weekly downloads and ending the quarter at approximately 150K. Active users fluctuated between 13.3M in late October and 11.9M in late December, indicating some volatility in user engagement over the quarter.

Moovit: All Transit Options experienced a gradual decline in weekly downloads from around 96K in late September to about 44K by the end of December. Active users remained relatively stable at approximately 1M, with a slight drop to 758K towards the end of the quarter.

Yandex Maps & Navigator had a notable increase in weekly revenue, peaking at around $7.8K in early December. Weekly downloads showed a general upward trend from 71K in late September to 85K by the end of December. Active users exhibited stability, remaining around the 2M mark with a peak of 2.15M in mid-December.

2GIS: Offline Map & Navigation saw steady weekly downloads, starting at approximately 53K in early October and rising to around 59K by the end of December. Active users experienced a slight decline from 1.8M in late September to around 1.67M by the end of December.
