Top 5 iOS Navigation Apps in Australia for Q4 2021

The fourth quarter of 2021 saw interesting trends in the performance of the top five iOS navigation apps in Australia. According to Sensor Tower data, these apps exhibited diverse patterns in weekly downloads and active user metrics.

Google Maps showcased a consistent performance in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 36K in late September and peaking at around 42K in mid-December. The app maintained a strong user base with weekly active users ranging from 2.1M to 2.3M throughout the quarter.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a gradual increase in weekly downloads, beginning the quarter at about 9.2K and reaching nearly 17K by the end of December. However, the app saw a slight decline in weekly active users, from approximately 484K in late September to around 463K by the end of the year.

Petrol Spy Australia had a notable fluctuation in weekly downloads, starting at around 2.3K and peaking at 6.3K in late November. Despite this, the app's weekly active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 26K and 34K throughout the quarter.

BPme showed a steady trend in weekly downloads, beginning at approximately 2.4K and peaking at 4K in mid-November. The app's weekly active users saw a slight increase from about 6.4K in late September to 8.1K in mid-November, before settling at around 6.8K by the end of December.

NSW FuelCheck experienced significant growth in weekly downloads, starting at 750 and peaking at over 4K in early December. The app's weekly active users also saw an upward trend, beginning the quarter at around 15.8K and reaching nearly 22K in early December.
