In the fourth quarter of 2021, the top five shopping applications on the Android platform in South America showed varying trends in downloads and active users. Here’s a detailed look at their performance.

Shopee: 9.9 Super Shopping Day saw impressive download numbers throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads peaked at approximately 1.2M in mid-October and mid-November, with a consistent performance around 1M in other weeks. Active users also grew steadily, reaching around 16.4M in late November before stabilizing at approximately 15M by the end of December.

SHEIN-Shopping Online experienced a notable increase in weekly downloads early in the quarter, peaking at 867K in mid-November. Downloads then trended downward, ending the quarter with about 420K in the final week. Active user numbers followed a similar pattern, with a high of around 8M in early November, and tapering off to approximately 6.9M by the end of December.

Mercado Libre: Compras online maintained a consistent level of weekly downloads, generally hovering around 600K. Active users remained stable throughout the quarter, fluctuating slightly but staying close to 26M.

Facily: Compra Online e Oferta had a fluctuating download trend, peaking at 753K in mid-October and experiencing a dip to around 300K in mid-November. Active users showed a steady decline from around 4.1M in late October to approximately 3.1M by the end of December.

Americanas: compras online witnessed a sharp increase in downloads in mid-November, reaching about 759K. However, by the end of December, downloads had dropped to around 254K. Active users saw a significant rise to approximately 14.1M in late November, before decreasing to roughly 9.4M by the end of the quarter.
