The fourth quarter of 2021 saw notable trends among the top finance apps on the Android platform in Africa. Here's a closer look at the performance of the top five apps in this category, based on data from Sensor Tower.

FairKash - Loan to M-Pesa saw a fluctuating trend in weekly downloads, starting strong at around 201K in late September and dipping to approximately 39K by the end of December. Active users mirrored this trend, peaking at 393K in early December before declining to 240K in the final week of the quarter.

EaseMoni—Instant loan online demonstrated a more stable performance. Weekly downloads varied, reaching a high of about 161K in mid-October and closing the quarter at nearly 137K. Active users saw a substantial increase, peaking at around 328K in the last week of December.

VodaPay experienced a significant surge in weekly downloads in early October, with numbers hitting approximately 151K. However, these figures decreased steadily to about 35K by the end of December. Active users showed a strong upward trend, peaking at 267K in late November before settling at around 203K by the end of the quarter.

Creditmoja - Digital Loan APP in Kenya had an impressive start with about 401K downloads in late September, but this number dropped to nearly 26K by the end of December. Weekly active users also saw a decline from 406K to approximately 176K over the same period.

Trust: Crypto & Bitcoin Wallet showed a remarkable increase in weekly downloads, peaking at around 171K in late October. Active users also rose significantly, reaching close to 995K at the same time, before seeing a slight decrease to around 823K by the end of December.
