The fourth quarter of 2021 saw significant movements among the top education apps on the Android platform in Latin America. Based on data from Sensor Tower, here’s a closer look at the performance of the top five apps: Brainly: AI Homework Helper, Duolingo: Language Lessons, Photomath, Google Classroom, and Mathway: Scan & Solve Problems.

Brainly: AI Homework Helper experienced varied trends in Q4 2021. Weekly downloads saw a notable decline from about 524K at the start of October to around 48K by the end of December. Revenue spiked significantly in December, peaking at approximately $0.8K in the week of December 6. Active users also showed a decline, starting from roughly 11.2M in late September and dropping to 2.2M by the end of the quarter.

Duolingo: Language Lessons maintained a relatively stable performance throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads hovered around the 300K to 400K range, with a peak of approximately 439K in the last week of December. Revenue remained steady, with a notable increase to around $153K during the same week. Active users fluctuated slightly but remained close to 2.9M by the end of December.

Mathway: Scan & Solve Problems experienced a notable decline in downloads and active users. Downloads started at around 384K in late September and dropped to about 26K by the end of December. Revenue varied slightly, with weekly figures between $3.6K and $8.6K. Active users decreased from approximately 1M to 0.3M over the quarter.
