In the third quarter of 2021, the top utilities applications in the United States demonstrated diverse performance metrics across downloads, revenue, and active users, according to Sensor Tower data. Here, we break down the performance of the top five utilities apps on a unified platform.

Google saw a consistent increase in weekly downloads, starting from 328K at the end of June and peaking at 425K in the first week of August. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around the 76M mark throughout the quarter.

Google Chrome also experienced steady weekly downloads, beginning at 329K at the end of June and reaching 382K by mid-August. Active users for Google Chrome consistently hovered around 142M, maintaining a strong user base across the quarter.

Fonts from Fonts ApS had a mixed performance. Weekly revenue started at approximately $65K in late June, gradually declining to around $46K by the end of September. Downloads fluctuated, with a peak of 153K in late July and a low of 102K in mid-August. Active users saw a slight drop, from 513K at the end of June to approximately 510K by the quarter's end.

TV Remote - Universal Control by EVOLLY.APP had a notable quarter. Weekly revenue peaked at around $101K in late August. Downloads increased significantly from 87K at the end of June to around 160K by mid-September. Active users also saw an upward trend, starting at 137K and reaching 213K by the third week of September.

Xfinity from Comcast maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads fluctuating between 122K and 161K. Active users hovered around the 1M mark, peaking at approximately 1.05M in early August.
