Top 5 Travel Apps Performance in Netherlands Q3 2021

In the third quarter of 2021, the top 5 travel applications in the Netherlands demonstrated varied performance metrics across downloads and active users, as per Sensor Tower data. Below is a detailed analysis of each app’s performance on a unified platform.

Reisapp saw a peak in weekly downloads at 90.3K in mid-July, followed by a gradual decline to around 12.4K by the end of September. Weekly active users also showed a downward trend, peaking at approximately 286K in mid-July and decreasing to around 206K by the end of the quarter.

NS Travel Planner experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, reaching a high of 43.2K in mid-August. Active users showed a similar growth pattern, beginning at 130K at the start of the quarter and increasing to 160K by the end of September.

For Booking.com: Hotels & Travel, weekly downloads peaked at 31.8K in late July, followed by a decline to around 14.5K at the end of September. The app's active users peaked at 559K in early August but then saw a decline to approximately 373K by the end of the quarter.

9292 reisplanner OV + e-ticket showed a significant increase in weekly downloads peaking at 27.2K at the end of August. Active users also rose steadily from 399K at the start of the quarter to 494K by the end of September.

Lastly, Efteling maintained a relatively stable download rate, peaking at approximately 20K at the end of June and gradually declining to around 11K by the end of September. Active users remained stable throughout the quarter, fluctuating between 24K and 31K.
