In the third quarter of 2021, the top 5 news applications in Africa demonstrated varied performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users. Below is a detailed analysis of these apps.

X saw a consistent trend in weekly downloads, averaging around 275K, with a peak of approximately 295K in mid-September. Revenue spiked significantly at the end of August, reaching $105, while the active user base remained relatively stable at around 16M throughout the quarter.
