In the third quarter of 2021, the top 5 navigation applications in France showcased diverse performance metrics across downloads and active users. Here's a closer look at the trends observed for each app, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Google Maps experienced fluctuations in its weekly downloads, starting at around 95.7K at the end of June and dipping to approximately 64K by late August before climbing back up to 67K by the end of September. The app's weekly active users saw a gradual decline from about 8.1M to 7.7M over the quarter.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw a peak in weekly downloads of 132.1K in mid-August, before a decline to around 97.5K by the end of September. Its weekly active users followed a similar trend, peaking at 6.7M in mid-August and then decreasing to approximately 6M by the end of the quarter.

Itinerary Assistant had a more stable download trend, with numbers hovering around 17K to 27.5K throughout the quarter. The app's weekly active users showed consistent engagement, maintaining a level of around 87K to 96K over the same period.

Bonjour RATP saw its weekly downloads increase from approximately 29.9K at the end of June to a peak of 32.5K in late August, followed by a slight decrease to 30.4K by the end of September. Active users for the app rose from 158.5K to 165.8K over the quarter.

Moovit: All Transit Options showed a significant peak in weekly downloads, reaching 40.3K at the end of August. The app's weekly active users also increased, starting at around 193K at the end of June and growing to 253K by the end of September.
