During the third quarter of 2021, the top 5 navigation apps in the United Arab Emirates demonstrated notable performance trends across various metrics. Here’s a closer look at how each app fared based on data from Sensor Tower.

Google Maps maintained a consistent presence in the UAE. Weekly downloads fluctuated slightly, peaking at around 15.2K in early August and ending the quarter with approximately 13.1K downloads. The app also showed a steady number of active users, starting at 1.16M in early July and rising to around 1.20M by the end of September.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic from Waze Inc. saw a relatively stable download trend, with weekly downloads ranging from 4.7K to 5.7K. The app’s active user base remained steady, with minor fluctuations, starting at 336K in late June and ending at approximately 331K in late September.

Qibla Compass (Kaaba Locator) showed interesting trends in both downloads and revenue. Weekly downloads varied, reaching a high of 2.0K in early August and closing the quarter at about 1.4K. The app’s revenue saw a significant spike in early September, peaking at around $67, while the number of active users remained relatively stable, averaging around 1.2K.
