During the third quarter of 2021, the top five book applications in Sweden showed varying trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Data from Sensor Tower provides a detailed look into the performance of these apps.

Storytel - Audiobooks Library experienced a steady increase in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $994 in the week of August 23. Weekly downloads saw a minor dip mid-quarter but ended strong with around 5.1K in the last week of September. Active users steadily grew from 83.6K at the beginning of the quarter to nearly 96K by the end.

Nextory: Audiobooks & E-books had modest revenue fluctuations, with a peak of $6 in the week of August 23. Downloads showed a general downward trend, starting at 6.1K in late June and dropping to 3.9K by the end of September. Active users also saw a slight decline, from 64.3K to around 60K over the quarter.

BookBeat Audiobooks & E-books did not report any revenue during this period. Downloads decreased from 4.8K at the end of June to 3.2K by late September. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 56K and 59K throughout the quarter.

Wattpad - Read & Write Stories showed significant weekly revenue variations, peaking at $2.4K in the week of September 20. Downloads decreased from 1.9K at the start of the quarter to just over 1K by the end. Active users saw a downward trend from 58.2K to around 50.7K.
