In the third quarter of 2021, the top five shopping apps on iOS in New Zealand demonstrated diverse performance metrics, as reported by Sensor Tower. Here’s a closer look at their weekly downloads and active user trends.

SHEIN - Shopping Online recorded steady growth in its downloads and active users. Weekly downloads started at around 3.9K in early July and saw a significant increase, peaking at approximately 6.9K in mid-September. Active users followed a similar trajectory, beginning at around 39.9K and reaching over 50.8K by the end of September.

The Warehouse - Shop and Save experienced notable fluctuations in its weekly downloads. Starting from about 2.8K in late June, downloads dipped to a low of 1K in early August, then surged to over 6K by mid-September. Active users also showed a positive trend, increasing from approximately 16.3K to 22.5K over the quarter.

Trade Me: Property, Jobs, Shop maintained a relatively stable download rate, with weekly downloads hovering around 2.7K to 3.6K. Active users remained consistent, fluctuating slightly around the 55K to 62K range throughout the quarter.

Afterpay: Shop Smarter showed consistent weekly downloads, averaging between 2K and 2.8K. Active users demonstrated a slight upward trend, starting at approximately 42K in late June and increasing to around 44K by the end of September.

Woolworths NZ saw its weekly downloads peak at about 5.4K in mid-August before stabilizing around 1.3K to 2.2K. Active users showed a significant rise, starting at around 18.5K and peaking at nearly 29.3K in mid-August, before settling at approximately 22.3K by the end of September.
