In the third quarter of 2021, the top navigation apps on the iOS platform in the United States showcased diverse performance trends. Here’s a detailed look at the weekly downloads, revenue, and active users for Google Maps, Waze Navigation & Live Traffic, ParkMobile: Park. Pay. Go., Transit • Subway & Bus Times, and Geocaching®.

Google Maps maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads fluctuating around the 500K mark. The highest downloads were recorded in the first week of August with approximately 536K. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 24M throughout the quarter.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a decline in weekly downloads, starting at 232K in late June and dropping to about 155K by the end of September. Active users also showed a slight decrease, falling from 10.8M at the beginning of the quarter to 10.3M by the end.

ParkMobile: Park. Pay. Go. saw a slight increase in active users, reaching around 372K by late September. Downloads fluctuated, peaking at 77K in late August and dropping to 53K in early September. Revenue remained minimal, with minor fluctuations throughout the quarter.

Transit • Subway & Bus Times showed significant growth in revenue, particularly in September, where it peaked at approximately $11.7K in the final week. Downloads and active users both trended upwards, with downloads reaching 54K in mid-September and active users increasing to about 1.36M by the end of the quarter.

Geocaching® had a notable spike in downloads in mid-July, peaking at around 54K. However, the numbers gradually decreased to about 11K by the end of September. Revenue also showed a downward trend, starting at $84.9K in late June and ending at $42.9K in late September. Active users followed a similar pattern, declining from 33.2K to 29.1K.
