Top 5 iOS Navigation Apps in Italy Q3 2021

During the third quarter of 2021, the top five navigation apps on iOS in Italy had varied performance trends in terms of weekly downloads and active users. Here’s a detailed look at each app’s performance based on Sensor Tower data.

Google Maps from Google saw a steady decline in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 74K at the end of June and dropping to around 38K by the end of September. However, its weekly active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 7M and 7.4M throughout the quarter.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a moderate decrease in weekly downloads, peaking at around 16K in early August before declining to approximately 9.8K by the end of September. The app's weekly active users showed some volatility, peaking at roughly 734K in early August and then stabilizing around 654K by the end of the quarter.

Moovit: All Transit Options had a notable increase in weekly downloads, starting from around 11K at the end of June and reaching up to 23K by mid-September. This growth was reflected in its weekly active users, which rose from approximately 138K at the end of June to around 189K by the end of September.

SpTH maintained a relatively low download rate, with weekly downloads fluctuating between 2.4K and 5.9K throughout the quarter. Correspondingly, its weekly active users ranged from around 3.7K to 7.3K, showing a slight decline towards the end of the quarter.

ATM Milano Official App experienced a significant increase in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 1.8K at the end of June and peaking at around 5.9K by mid-September. This growth was mirrored in its weekly active users, which increased from around 11K to approximately 15.6K by the end of September.
