Top 5 Shopping Apps on Android in Nigeria: Q3 2021 Performance

The third quarter of 2021 saw notable trends in the performance of the top five shopping apps on Android in Nigeria. Here’s a closer look at their weekly downloads and active users.

JUMIA Online Shopping experienced significant fluctuation in weekly downloads, starting with around 41.8K at the end of June and peaking at approximately 66.9K in late August. The app’s weekly active users showed a slight decline from 775K to 733K over the quarter, with a notable dip in early August before recovering towards the end of September.

Jiji Nigeria: Buy&Sell Online saw its weekly downloads peak at about 39.9K in early August, followed by a gradual decline to around 20.9K by the end of September. Meanwhile, weekly active users also experienced a decline, starting at 425K at the beginning of the quarter and ending at approximately 397K.

Alibaba.com - B2B marketplace had a steady increase in weekly downloads, peaking at roughly 8.8K in early September. The app’s weekly active users remained relatively stable, starting at 149K and slightly increasing to 156K by the end of the quarter.

Wish: Shop and Save experienced a sharp decline in weekly downloads, starting at about 13.7K at the end of June and dropping to around 577 by the end of September. Weekly active users also saw a downward trend from 41.5K to 13.1K during the same period.

DHgate-online wholesale stores showed a significant increase in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 8.7K in mid-August. Weekly active users followed a similar trend, starting at around 6.1K and rising to about 15.1K by the end of September.
