Top 5 Finance Apps in Costa Rica Q2 2021: Unified Platform Performance

The second quarter of 2021 saw significant activity in Costa Rica's finance app market. Let's take a closer look at how the top 5 finance apps performed on a unified platform, combining both iOS and Android data. All insights are based on data provided by Sensor Tower.

BN Móvil from Banco Nacional de Costa Rica maintained a strong presence throughout Q2. Weekly downloads showed a consistent upward trend, starting at 8.5K at the end of March and peaking at 16.6K in mid-June. Active users also grew steadily, from 310K at the beginning of the quarter to around 365K by the end of June.

EMMA, published by Unicomer, experienced notable growth in weekly downloads, starting at 6.1K and reaching a high of 12.2K by the end of June. Active users followed a similar trend, increasing from 28K to over 41K during the same period.

BN SINPE Móvil, another app from Banco Nacional de Costa Rica, saw its weekly downloads rise from 6.1K to a peak of 9.9K in mid-June. Active users showed a steady increase, growing from 34.7K at the end of March to approximately 40.4K by the end of June.

Pei - Mueve tu dinero by Akros Technologies S.A experienced a significant spike in weekly downloads in late April, with numbers jumping from 415 to 28.3K. However, this surge was followed by a decline, with downloads stabilizing around 500 by the end of June.

BCR Móvil from Banco de Costa Rica showed a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting at 5.3K and reaching up to 8.8K in mid-June. Active users also saw growth, rising from 78K at the end of March to nearly 88K by the end of the quarter.
