In the second quarter of 2021, the navigation app landscape on iOS in Costa Rica showcased some interesting trends. Here’s a closer look at the performance of the top 5 navigation apps based on data from Sensor Tower.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw steady weekly downloads, ranging from around 1.6K to 2.1K. The app's weekly active users exhibited a gradual increase, starting at approximately 100.7K and peaking at around 105.2K by the end of June.

Google Maps experienced a consistent download rate, averaging between 1.2K and 1.7K weekly. The app maintained a stable active user base, fluctuating slightly but ultimately rising from 130.5K to about 137.4K towards the quarter's end.

Moovit: All Transit Options had a modest but steady download rate, increasing from around 270 to 430 downloads per week. Active users for Moovit also saw a positive trend, growing from roughly 4.9K to 5.4K by late June.

Find my Phone - Family Locator showed impressive growth in both downloads and revenue. Weekly downloads increased from about 80 to nearly 300, while weekly revenue peaked at about $160 in early June. Active users followed a similar upward trajectory, starting at 87 and reaching 281 by the end of the quarter.

Location Tracker - find GPS had a varied performance. Downloads fluctuated, peaking at 158 in early April but dropping to as low as 5 in late June. Active users mirrored this volatility, starting at 50 and hitting a low of 10 mid-June before a slight recovery.
