The dating app industry continues to flourish, and Sensor Tower's data offers a glimpse into the performance of the top players in the United States during the first quarter of 2021. Here's how the top five dating apps fared on unified platforms.

Tinder: Chat, Dating & Friends saw a fluctuation in revenue, starting the quarter with $6M and dipping to around $5M in subsequent weeks before a rise back to $6M. Downloads for Tinder remained strong, with numbers hovering around 220K to 240K, but showed a slight downward trend reaching just over 200K by the end of the quarter. Weekly active users started at 8.7M, dipped to 8.2M mid-quarter, then rose again to roughly 8.5M.

Bumble: Dating & Friends App had revenues starting at $2.8M and saw a minor decrease to $2.4M, with slight fluctuations throughout the quarter. The app's downloads began at 153K, gradually decreased to just under 100K, and slightly recovered to 113K. Active users remained stable with an initial count of 3.8M, peaking at 4.1M, and closing the quarter around 4M.

Hinge Dating App: Match & Date displayed a steady revenue trend, starting at $1.2M, peaking at $1.4M, and ending the quarter around the same figure. Downloads for Hinge showed a downward trend, from 115K to approximately 78K. Weekly active users showed a peak of 2.9M mid-quarter before settling back down to 2.7M.

MeetMe - Meet, Chat & Go Live experienced an interesting revenue pattern, with initial numbers around $1M, a spike to $1.8M in mid-March, and concluding the quarter at approximately $1.2M. Downloads were consistent, starting at 77K, dipping to 52K, and rising slightly to 59K. Active users saw a slight decline from 472K to 441K throughout the quarter.

Plenty of Fish Dating App showed revenues beginning at $820K, reaching a high of $1.3M in mid-March, and ending the quarter at about $1.1M. Downloads saw a decrease from 131K to 89K. The weekly active users count started at 1.3M, dipped to 1.2M, and ended with a noticeable drop to 1.1M.
